Saint-Brevin-les-Pins – Where the Loire meets the Atlantic Ocean

Just 39 minutes from L’Esplanade Hôtel · Restaurant · Bar à vinSaint-Brevin-les-Pins marks the point where France’s longest river meets the Atlantic Ocean. This popular seaside resort on the Jade Coast combines wide sandy beaches, unspoilt natural landscapes and a relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for both relaxation and outdoor activities.

With 8 kilometres of sandy beaches, protected dunes, coastal woodland and numerous walking and cycling trails, Saint-Brevin is perfect for swimming, water sports, hiking and cycling. It also marks the symbolic end of La Loire à Vélo, where the famous cycling route reaches the Atlantic before continuing along La Vélodyssée.

One of the town’s most iconic landmarks is the Serpent d’Océan, a monumental sculpture by artist Huang Yong Ping. Installed on the shoreline facing the Saint-Nazaire Bridge, the giant sea serpent appears and disappears with the tides, creating an ever-changing landscape. The artwork is part of the Estuaire Nantes <> Saint-Nazaire contemporary art trail.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing day at the beach, a scenic bike ride, spectacular estuary views or fresh Atlantic air, Saint-Brevin-les-Pins is one of the must-see destinations in Loire-Atlantique.

After your seaside escape, return to L’Esplanade to enjoy homemade cuisine or spend a peaceful night on the banks of the Loire.
